I was on the verge of a massive breakthrough in 2011, but after a great start to my season my shoulder started to be extremely painful, but foolishly I carried on competing trying to qualify for the World Championships, which I had achieved the standard for early on in the season. It turned out, after a scan in July, that I had fully torn my rotator cuff, and required a fairly serious operation which I had in September. I have moved from Leeds to Loughborough for medical and financial reasons since then to keep my Olympic dream alive, and my rehabilitation is going well to date. Fingers crossed I can achieve my goal for the last 5 years and throw the Olympic standard again and make the team!
